You can't say it happened been coming!

I think you can say that if paid by the BBC...

Can anyone explain how the 3rd place positions are worked out for the round 32, and why the winners of some groups will be guranteed 2nd place team to play, and others are a 3rd place team from four different groups.

For example.

Wednesday 1st July
Last 32
1st Group A versus 3rd Group C/E/F/H/I kick off 02:00

1st Group L versus 3rd Group E/H/I/J/K kick off 17:00

1st Group G versus 3rd Group A/E/H/I/J kick off 21:00

Thursday 2nd July
Last 32
1st Group D versus 3rd Group B/E/F/I/J kick off 01:00

1st Group H versus 2nd Group J kick off 20:00

Who do I support here? Now let me see its Canada (one of the most pleasant countries in the world) against Quntar...difficult choice
But Qatar's kit is nicer.
Yes but probably many poor buggers died cleaning and ironing it for them.

Only eight of the twelve third placed teams qualify so there aren't enough of them to play every group winner. This means four group winners have to play runners-up.

In terms of which third place team plays which group winner, Wikipedia is as good a source as any. Scroll down to "Combinations of matches in the round of 32" under "Format" on the link below.

Should have been a red even if it was in the box as he wasn't making a genuine attempt to play the ball

That's what I thought, not sure why Christina said otherwise.

I'm completely confused by what's just happened. Seems ITV's ref expert was too.

Scrambling to explain herself and blaming camera angles. Saw it live, confirmed first replay. Giz a job.

Also, they all need to align on whether double jeopardy rule applies in the box or not, because it seems to depend on the ref. Still see players get sent off for it all the time.
