Saudi Arabia beating Uruguay is an upset on the cards isn’t it, or is it?

Righto….Uruguay to win the World Cup if the Saudis hold on.

Hope so, I'd love Uruguay to win a third World Cup.

Why?

(Honest question; not baiting.)

They're a small country that have punched above their weight in international competition. Plus they pulled off the Maracanazo. It'd be great to see someone like them or Croatia win the World Cup in this day and age.

Commentary on the Saudi game is strange. The commentators are making all sorts of excuses for Uruguay being so poor but not giving Saudi the credit they deserve when they have been by far the better team.

At least Karen Carney called it asit is. “Uruguay have been rubbish”. Fair play Kas, tell it as it is.

Fair enough.

I'm with you on the Axis Powers, by the way. I don't imagine I'll watch a single second, but Germany, Japan and Scotland (the most insidious of them) all the way for me.

Fuck me. Only in America. White power sign VAR official says it was an involuntary twitch. Cleared by FIFA.

He took it well, but the keeper should have done much better with the initial header.

I haven't seen the footage and I had no idea about that signal, but to be fair, my first thought upon seeing the image was 'shit, I've probably accidentally done that loads of times during job interviews'.

Yeah, I don't think you can say for certain there is anything in that.

Anyway, decent game after a slow start.

Ends 1-1. Good result for Cabo Verde, 3 draws would see them go through if Spain beat Uruguay and Saudi Arabia.
