They are "glow blue", apparently.

Aston Villa unveil new home kit - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cwy2kng54e8o

WTF is glow blue? Sounds like a fuel additive.

I had one of these 83/84 away back in the day. Loved it, but a couple of my mates at the time hated it. You can't please everyone I suppose? I was never one for the Henson kits but everyone seems to love them now.

I hated the Henson kit.

There was a lad on our estate who wore one he'd obviously inherited as he was younger than me, and I always felt sorry for him when loads of us were in our classy Hummels.

I hope you were sensitive towards his plight. not only a hand me down but a relegation hand me down

I didn't know that at the time, as I can't remember the relegation, and without Wikipedia, the world was a dark, data-free void that still gives me nightmares.

Hand-me-down footie shirts were par for the course round our way. My best mate didn't own a football shirt that hadn't been his brother's first.

Luckily I only had older sisters, and their dresses didn't go with my footie boots. But because of the price, I could only have a Villa shirt as a Christmas prezzie, so I still had to wait till half way through the season anyway.

It's worth a fortune now.

My favourite away shirt of all time, I was on the front page of the Sutton News wearing it after finishing a 5 mile fun run  :D

One of my favs.
Back in the day you could usually mix and match the home and away kits. Change the socks around swap the shorts, no chance of that now.

Short sleeved it doesn't, long sleeved it does.

So do you have to buy the top to get the chance of a picture with the trophy tomorrow?

That was a nice shirt, let down only by the oversized white "V". Henson and Hummel can get in the bin though.

That’s our best ever away kit, despite the claret stripes running in the wash on mine. Love it.
