It feels like in the last few weeks we've gone up several levels and now exist on a different plane to mere mortals.

We are 100% winning the league next year.

I’d say it’s more 50/50.

We either will or we won't so it's definitely 50/50.

33/1 to win it. Behind Arse, Citeh, Manure, and Plop which I sort of get. But Chavski at 11/1 ?

I wonder what the odds were in August for us not getting a league penalty all season?

My mind wanders back to when my youngest son, aged about 5 or 6 at the time, with a Conor Hourihane poster on his wall, realised there was another division that Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd and Arsenal were in and that being about fourth or fifth in our league didn’t mean we were one of the best teams in the country. I had tried and failed to keep it from him but no doubt some pesky schoolmate had exposed him to the uncomfortable truth.

“Why aren’t we in that league?” he asked.

“We’re trying son” I said.

Similarly, I grimaced when he wanted SJMs name on the back of his shirt in Gerrard’s one summer, thinking ‘he won’t be playing much in the coming season’.

Look at us all now.

That result was a surprise: a very nice one nevertheless!

Never in doubt. Unai was never going to give up the chance to piss on Pep’s chips.

I wonder what the odds were of us finishing top 4 and winning the Europa League at the end of August.

Great way to round off a truly sensational season. Unai and the players have done us proud. Again.

If only Booby hadn't got injured again... But perhaps we'll find out next season.

I had today's game on a stream which game me the joy of listening to one of the worst commentaries I've heard all season.

The first half was a Guardiola love-fest to the extent that it was only by looking at scores in the top corner that you got a clue about the away side.

Then the pair of idiots seemed unable to understand why Villa were were so much better in the 2nd half

I'll give the pair of them a clue:

Garcia  - Cash
Lindelof - Torres
Luiz - Youri
Bogarde - Onana
Barkley - SMJ

Replacing 5 squad players with first choice regulars might have played a part in the change.

And then late on, when Jim bloody Beglin began to give us some credit grudgingly he comes up with this pearl of wisdom:

" ...Villa must really back Emery financially to move the club forward ..."

WTAF!!!! Doesn't he know that his beloved RedScouse, C115ty and the rest of the Greedy6 (and their UEFA chums) have rigged the deck to stop the likes of Villa and Toon etc. breaking into their little cartel?

It's these lickspittles who constantly reinforce the Big6 bias and make life so much harder for other clubs to get the coverage they deserve.

Ps - Does anybody know how to get one of these gigs? Pretty sure I could spout bollocks for a couple of hours a week, and I need the money to pay off my Istanbul bill.

Never in doubt. Unai was never going to give up the chance to piss on Pep’s chips.

Listening to his presser, it was all very gushing about Guardiola but equally clear that beating him was personally important to Unai. I think he will be ecstatic about doing the double over him whilst still praising him in public. I expect Mrs Emery may find him in a frisky mood tonight.

It was great to be able to bring on Tielemans, Onana, Pau and SJM. But it's worth pointing out that the only change we made before Ollie scored his second was Cash at half time.

Honestly, since about October, I've been looking at these last two league fixtures, terrified that we'd need something from them in order to secure Champions League football.

If, back then, you'd have predicted we'd win both of them, I'd have called you an absolute lunatic.

I love being so wrong sometimes.  WHAT a way to finish the season.  Such a different atmosphere around the club going into this summer. I can't remember a better time to be a Villa fan (well, my memory only goes back to the mid-80s).

Here's to world domination.
