I think I’ve had 15 hours sleep in total since Sunday night. Some of the best days of my life. Manchester - Bilbao (3 hours in the city) - Istanbul - Berlin (3 hours in the city) - Birmingham. Unforgettable. Also found the Freiburg fans to be some of the friendliest fans I’ve ever met. I cried when Buendia scored. I knew it was over at that stage.

The food, atmosphere, drinking, singing, cats and the city in general, made it all the more memorable.

Didn't get to watch it or even keep up with the score properly as was in a bad signal area. Driving along scenic byway 12 in Utah and getting whatsapp updates from my son every now and now then when we drive into signal was how the three goals came through after the fact. Going to enjoy watching it all the way through on Villa TV when I get home tomorrow.

Hasn't sunk in yet. What a turnaround under Emery. What a likeable set of players. I honestly think we could win the Champions league next season with a few shrewd signings.

Don't know if it's been posted, but here is every goal we scored in the tournament. (Have to click to watch it on youtube.)

Wow, nearly every goal was a peach.
No one can say we didn’t win it in style.

Buendia so involved. Player of the tournament surely?

Also, that comeback v Salzburg was vital to our success I think.

One nice little call-back I noticed - Buendia's against Feyenoord is like a much silkier version of the winner against Arsenal.

Kamara tackling their guy before it can be cleared, laying it off straight to Buendia who curls it in.

Also - watching them back, Rogers has obviously had some spectacular moments but the overall player of the tournament should have clearly been Buendia.

I had some dirt on the Imam in charge of Taksim Mosque and he was happy to oblige with this:

It's the only thing 'Gers' will win this season.

The UEFA Technical Observer Group has named Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers as the 2025/26 UEFA Europa League Player of the Season.

And the team of the season
