And total, utter respect to the Freiburg supporters for their behaviour during and after the match.
Yes absolutely amazing fans. Very decent outside the ground in town and very respectful at the end. About 80% stayed back to see the trophy presented and a very large majority waited for a good 15 mins past that. I thought our team missed a trick by not going up towards them for appreciation like Olympiakos team did with us a couple of seasons ago.

Waiting in the airport for the flight home. What an incredible couple of days. Istanbul was great, Villa fans were great, Freiburg fans were great. The team was even better. Lots of videos to catch up on over the long weekend.

What an incredible, emotional few days that was.

Amongst all the carnage, my lad said some words to me after the final whistle that brought tears to my eyes. I’ll never forget it. I’m not sure that will ever be topped for me. It’s been a rough 18 months, it was time to let it all out.

The stories, the people, the whole thing was mind blowing. Even losing my flag didn’t dampen any spirits!

Scrolling through Facebook yesterday, nearly every post was Villa related. It's the best Facebook has been since it started.

Didn't come on here on the night - wanted to concentrate on what was going on in front of me and drink it all in. Finally calmed down yesterday evening and Mom hits me with 'Dad's just said Grandad would've been so pleased about The Villa' on the family WhatsApp. And I'm bloody leaking again. I'm 55 FFS. He's been dead since 86, that first cloth pennant hanging on my bedroom wall was from him. She's right. HEITS.

I'm so pleased for us all. UTV.
