Europa League Winners Post-Match Celebration Perma-sticky

Watching on the box, I thought the Freiburg fans were brilliant. Even 3-0 they kept up chants, carried on waving flags throughout and seemingly stayed after the end - despite being outplayed and outnumbered.
Not sure what those at the game thought.

Despite the monotony of the drum and the choreographed chanting, singing swaying etc.
They never relented and stayed through our celebrations.
So credit where it’s due but I fkin hate drums.

I honestly don't know whether I admire or not the way they go about it. It is something I've described previously as a glorified boy band routine and it does seem very contrived. I've seen occasions where they concede and carry on as if nothings happened - very strange.

As someone said - they weren't watching the match. It wasn't the noise that made them great, though, it was the people. Every one of them was respectful of our team and proud of theirs.

It was like watching a very advanced AI football crowd and all very German. Military precision throughout. I’m old school in that I prefer a crowd reacting to what’s happening in front of them.

Would have preferred it if they hit the road at the final whistle.

My friend got two or three from the sales point outside the stadium. The one in the fanzone had sold out at least four hours before kick off.

March 1996, I was 21 years old and about to get married to a girl who supported ManUre (!), and we lifted the League Cup.
Fast (!) forward 30 years and my now Villa mad wife and daughter made more noise than me at the final whistle in the pub.
Remy Jnr 1 watched the match in Belgium surrounded by neutrals who wanted us to win.
Remy Jnr 2 went to the Utility Arena and had a ball watching the match in an insane environment.
When they all finally went to bed at 2am, I sat quietly on my own and cried.
My team, my club, my faith. Stand tall and proud - Champions of Europe and new history being written. This will be the first of many trophies as we are on an upward trajectory.
God bless Unai and the players, the owners for a defining moment in our journey.

Still suffering from a little dust in my eyes today, although I think my pulse has returned to a steadier beat. Thanks to our Brighton friend there, maybe it just the media that makes us feel so paranoid about our standing in the national scene.
Somebody was making the point about the media giving us dog's for resting players.  The flip side of that was that Forest rested players between the 2 legs of the semis, only to bring Gibbs-White on at half time whilst 2-0 up and promptly lost him to that horrific head injury that kept him out of the 2nd leg.  Something their manager was very keen to blame for the defeat.
We saved the best to last, thrashed Liverpool, always a joy, romped home in the final and then went on to beat City 3-1 on the final day of the season!
