I had the chance to move out to Victoria on Vancouver Island in 2000, I met a girl who was visiting her Internet mate from Erdington, we met in the Cross Keys and eventually fell for each other, she outstayed her 6 month tourist visit for the UK and was deported. When she got back to Canada she got in touch and asked me to move out there and wanted to get married. I was still technically married and was going through a house sale, divorce etc so needed to stay in the UK, bit of a sliding doors moment as god knows how my life would have panned out over the last 26 years had I gone.
