Out of 6 season ticket holders in our group none were successful. My mate who is a member and does go to pretty much every game did get one. I could feel put out but that wold be churlish so I’m just pleased for him and his grandson.

Did you apply as a group or all individually? No reason, just curious if that affected the ballot draw (doubt it did TBF )

I'd highly recommend travelling even without a ticket. You'll have a fair chance of bagging one out there.

A mixture, some as a group others as individuals.

We did a group of 5 with no luck.

1 of my group has been to every game and mostly didn't have a ticket before they go there.

I agree it cannot be correct that a person gets a ticket because they are a member and have attended the 7 Europa games - STH should get priority

IF I renew next season it will be my 39th consecutive season as a STH - I did manage through the ballot to get a final ticket - the ballot should have only been open to STH in my opinion

Maybe we need to ask the club why members were included?
I intend too

Tried this last year regarding the Crystal Palace semi-final and got a pretty standard response saying  that members are fans too, they spend more than ST holders, and deserve it as much as ST holders do. (Which does have some merit Tbf)

Last years the idea of members having parity with some ST holders depending on cup tie attendance came straight out of the blue, and they weren’t budging, so no chance this year when they’ll say ST holders had fair warning what might happen if they didn’t go to all the cup matches.

How would it work with App based tickets? I have mine, but travelling with two who don't.

I hope you’re right (travelling with my son, both ticketless and gutted!) but suspect it may be much more difficult for a final, especially when factoring in restrictions on sharing tickets via the app etc.

If I didn't know it before, I now know for certain what price the club put on my lifelong loyalty. Worthless

When things turn to shit again when Emery leaves, we'll see how many stick around. Next time I won't.

A season ticket is not necessarily a demonstration of life long loyalty, but a reflection of an economic reality and priority for an individual.

There is nobody more one eye and blinkered and loyal to the Villa than me. But I go because I can afford to go.

The nature of season tickets has changed during my lifetime. It used to be the most loyal of the loyal showing their commitment to the club and hoping for a final ticket. Now there are a lot of people who sit near me who share season tickets, don’t attend cup games, leave games early whatever the score and situation. In the Premier League era it became a cachet to have a season ticket and the numbers sold increased significantly.

For the Club to incentivise buying cup tickets and memberships is lucrative and probably necessary, the direction of travel was obvious after the way tickets were allocated for the Preston cup game last year. When I saw so few season ticket holders sitting in their seats near me for Europa games I did wonder if they realised how it would affect getting a final ticket. Particularly against Macabi and Salzburg,

FYI for those who missed out, there will be another ballot for those where codes were sent out but tickets were not purchased with the code. Good luck to anyone in this 2nd ballot!

I think a big difference is this is the only period, post promotion, where you have needed a season ticket.
