Didn't get a ticket, only wanted it for my son to enjoy, what I enjoyed 1982, worse things in life I suppose

Nothing for me.  Thinking about it, I'm a season ticket holder who did all the home european games apart from Maccabi Tel Aviv as the family didn't fancy going in the climate.  Even though I had a ticket, would that have gone against me?

Season ticket holder who has been to all the home games since we got back into Europe, but didn't get a code.  No problems with the first two categories, could argue the third might have been a little unfair as it included memberships along with season tickets and only counted Europa League games, but there you go.

Hope they can find a way of having a big screen at Villa Park, as that would be the next best thing to going to the game.

They've said no big screen at Villa Park, as they are starting rebuilding work straight after the Liverpool game.

Bit miffed that Members were in the same window as Season Tickets + 7 games . Not with the members , but the club , for making the pool for tickets even smaller. If I didn't have a season ticket , I'd be a member and would be like the Chesire Cat if I had a ticket in my possesion today !

Let alone if you've had one for 40 years and not got a ticket...

Didn't get one. I've been to Turkey dozens of times but never to Istanbul and would've loved to make it there.

Congrats to all that got one and enjoy!

Was in two minds as to whether I could really afford it, but still gutted not to get the chance of tickets for me and my son.

Hope everyone that’s been successful has the best time, and shout louder for all of us.

I wouldn't be surprised if part of the thinking is to encourage attendance in the European games.

Lots of season ticket holders didn't go, certainly round us, and attendances have been down. So by rewarding the non-season ticket holders, they may think they are encouraging these to take up the slack when the ST holders don't come.

All it does is encourages season ticket holders to buy tickets for matches that they know they will be unable to attend, which is crap for those who struggle to get tickets, especially with the reduced capacity next year.

Well we know they are tracking whether you attend or not now, so who knows what they will do with that.

But if they get the money in for an otherwise empty seat, are they going to care?

Yeah, seen they have said that, but hoping they might reconsider and find a way to do it.  I don't know anything about major construction projects, but surely putting it back less than a week wouldn't make a massive difference.  It hasn't impacted them holding something at the Warehouse, which is directly behind the stand in question either.

I imagine a week costs a lot of money when you have crews in place and materials coming.

That's a fair point CD

I've got mixed feelinga bout the ballot categories.  My initial reaction was that I was a bit shocked.  But we've had a waiting list for 7 years.  There's a fair chance members who went to all the Euro home games will have been to lots of league games too and probably most would snap up a season ticket if offered one.  At what point does a member who goes to most games (paying more for tickets) deserve to be treated like a ST holder?

Maybe they could have said all Euro home games AND 10+ league games?

Still felt like a bit of a kick in the balls though.  And makes me wonder where we stand for domestic cup games in the future.

From memory, they prioritised memberships in some way for the FA Cup semi-final last year as well didn't they?  Guess they want to try and get as many memberships sold as possible.  Not in anyway having a dig at the folks with memberships, as I'd imagine the large majority of them attend most of the games anyway.  Doubt there would have been many at all who would just have paid for a membership and only gone to all of the home Europa games.
