Normally I've felt absolutely drained after a big win but this one seemed routine. Hopefully that's the attitude we carry into the final - no complacency but a feeling that this is where we belong.

We need the Leeds 1996 Final attitude, turn up, do our job, next!

We can’t go to Istanbul, my son will be in the middle of his GCSEs and my wifes father passed away recently and his funerals the day after the final. Life takes over.

I said to my son, if we break through this barrier with the nucleus of this team and with Emerys genius at the helm, there will be other finals.

That's unfortunate. At the very least, there'll be 4 away CL away games to go to next season, so you can treat him to a Euro trip then.

I went for a piss and missed the penalty and got pulled into a huge hug with two random blokes on the way back to my seat. It was tremendous fun.

Could you not have held it in?

Pretty sure they brought MGW at half-time rather than late on when they'd already won.
Yes he came on straight after HT and went off at 66 mins.

They were 2-0 up and completely dominating. Bringing him on was as stupid as him challenging for that ball.

Don't know about that. The third goal in that game was crucial, Chelsea were still in it. No one could have foreseen GW getting pole-pole-axed. A bit of luck for us.

Every time we’ve played continental opposition we’ve looked a class above. I presume because our wages are so much higher. That’s why I feared getting Forest!

Think it's been said before, but can anyone think of back-to-back games where the disparity between Villa performances has been so vast?
