Rather have 11 men on the pitch ra ra ra. I'd rather someone didn't risk snapping Watkins' ankle to pieces, but there you go. I got stuck in at centre half and never once led with my studs. You don't have to do it. Ever. That high it's a red. Plain and simple.

Aston Villa have only won one of their last six away games in all competitions that have been level at half-time (D2 L3), beating Lille 1-0 in this competition in March

Having seen a few angles now of the Watkins ' tackle ', Anderson is a lucky boy. Barely touched the ball, over the top of it and studs up. How Watkins is still playing is a miracle, could have been a career ender. Like Paulinha got away with it against us.

Anderson gets his red and that would be tie over. He's everywhere for them.

Would have settled for a yellow because then he would be worried on getting a second one of those. Instead he is still diving around and fouling.

Andy Reid was a fat fuck when he was a professional athlete, to be fair to the fat fuck.

Pissed away his career. Cruising around championship when he should have easily been top half PL. Disappointed in Carney there, like her as a pundit usually but she's getting paid to give an opinion.

Andy Reid was a shit footballer and, on this evidence, he's an even worse pundit,  twat. Not too impressed with Carney either because she knows that's a red card.

Red card is excessive force, which that was. I'd be surprised if that didn't get given in the premier league, but I'm stunned that a European VAR decided it was okay.  My guess is they thought "It's a yellow, but we don't have a facility for that, so play on".

Richard Dunne and Shay Given are on the Irish coverage. Their verdict when the presenter asked if it was a yellow or a red? "It's an orange".

Still don't think a one goal deficit going into next week would be a complete disaster

Don't think he got any of the three cards, did he?

welp, time to start surrounding the referee. All the big clubs do it.
