Really looking forward to the game now. This is the start of the business end of the season. Let's go and do a proper job, the lads should be pretty much rested and raring to go. Time to step it up a gear or two. We know Bologna will throw everything at us but no doubt Unai has a plan and it usually works.

European football is often like a game of chess and we have a Grand Master leading us.

0-3 Villa (Rogers, Watkins and whoever takes our penalties).

Gentle reminder that we haven't been in the quarter finals of this competition for nearly 30 years. Remember it well as a starry eyed young'un. Pressing for the third and decisive goal against Christian Vieri's Atletico. I'm going to try and savour this and frame it as hopefully revenge for that heartbroken young kid.

Worth taking a moment to remember what we're up to these days. Three European quarter finals on the bounce is unprecedented. Here's hoping this year it will become two European trophies.

Up the Villa. Up the Emery.
And, Up the Mellin.

😎🫡

I had a pass out from the other half to get a ticket for this one, and could have easily got one having been to the game in Lille, but decided against it having promised that my only other away game this season would be in Istanbul if we get there. Turns out while chatting with my line manager this week, he'd have refused a leave request for this one anyway, and I can understand why, with the department temporarily down to four people from the usual eight as it is. Perhaps I need to retire and follow my dreams because a decade from now we might be back to where we were a decade ago.

Enjoy it if you're travelling boys and girls. Really enjoy it, because the future isn't guaranteed.
Totally agree. Currently enjoying the delights of Milan before getting the train to Bologna tomorrow. My last Villa game in Italy was Juventus in 1983. Hopefully a better result this time.

VAR would have shown whether or not the ball was out.

Mad that it's our first competitive game in Italia since Inter '94.

I reckon we will. We've always been streaky under Emery (with the good ones massively outweighing the bad, obviously). We've done a bad one, started a good one with McGinn and Youri back and a run of favourable fixtures.

Reckon we'll look back in June and wonder what all the panic was about.

Im feeling exactly the same. The West Ham win wasn’t just comfortable against a struggling team, it was an Emerys Villa performance, totally dominated a team that to be fair have been scrapping lately.
Cmon on the lads!!

Martinez
Cash
Konsa
Torres
Digne
Onana
Luiz
McGinn
Watkins
Rogers
Beundia

Tielemans off the bench, Bailey and Abrahams as options
