One of those handful of players who were respected for their contribution to the claret and blue cause notwithstanding their time at St Andrew's.

Geoff Vowden's know-how and goals made a key contribution to our promotion from the old third division, 22 goals in 97 league appearances overall for Villa. He will always be remembered for his headed equaliser in the game v Bournemouth, a iconic Villa Park occasion. I also recall the goal he scored for us at Walsall that promotion season, that helped us avoid a second successive league defeat on that ground.
