Updated with Garnacho and young lads who look like they can contribute. I know others have done well, but these guys look first team ready. I'm getting excited. That's a top class left back, right winger and Onana away from being a serious football team. Get the Digne deal finalised, plus find a way to ship Bailey and Guessand and get those gaps plugged.

It's July?

Hookey, I like Ned and think he's good enough, but accept others and Emery might think differently. He's only 20 and looks a different player to the pup who was thrown in at 18. Agree on the rest. I'd probably sell Abraham if the Madjo CAS ruling goes in favour and run with that.

I heard 8-12m mentioned, which is very decent money for Mings, but leaves a huge hole in the squad.

Can’t see anyone paying that much. He would leave a gap in leadership terms, but if Ty is playing more than a few games this season we’re in trouble. He’s a real modern era legend for the club, but he’s not at the level we need now.

Exactly my thoughts Paul - McGinn & Mings are the two I will be gutted to see leave as they are associated to promotion era.  But equally I think if Ty plays more than 4/5 games this season we will be watching a mid table season as it seems there is a big error most games…could be handy in Dan Burn World Cup role of last 20 mins when under the cosh

Mings has only made about 40 appearances over the last 3 years, he's understandably going to be rusty and his levels will have dipped.

Yeah, this.  I've thought for a while as really you don't want your defenders rotating about too much as you want all of them to act pretty much as one unit - which means knowing exactly what everyone else is going to do, which means playing together a lot.  Plus, as Doggy T has said, he's a bit rusty anyway just through not playing.

I'd be happy keeping him as long as he's happy playing the 20-ish games a season that he currently is.  I could understand if he wanted to play more, though.

Yeah but part of that is due to injury and part is performance. Ty has been a brilliant servant for Villa, and is a top bloke. But our play is noticeably more static when he is playing and Pau isn’t.

He's clear-ly one of the finest centre backs in the world and always there to fill in whichever position Manager asks even playing in the hole. Never goes missing or misfires.

They don't know what they're about to unleash.
