Is there any “reliable” reports? I can’t see anything.

Zero

He follows Villa, Adidas, Garcia, and Lander Emery on Instagram. What more do you need?

This summer gets more and more crazy.

If Watkins went signing Jackson and a young physical striker makes sense as Jackson played as a wide forward at Villarreal for Emery with a more physical centre forward.

It feels like way too much change. Over half the team once Konsa or Martínez goes. And we'd still have to shift Abraham.

If Konsa, Martinez, or Watkins go I think that’s too much. But let’s see.

I think as it stands we have the capacity to do another £75M - £95M on incomings whilst keeping within UEFAs cap.

Fingers crossed.

At this rate we will be going from the second oldest team in the league to the youngest in one transfer window!

If Ollie goes, and Espi comes in, we'll have Abraham, Brian and the 21 yr old. Why waste £65m on Jackson?
And if Watkins stays and Espi comes in will we sell Abraham?

Note: ESPI - extra-sensory perceptive instincts?

In the one full season Jackson worked with Emery he played him for a total of 158 minutes in the league and didn’t start him once, and although he did start to play him a bit more in 22/23, he only scored 1 goal before Emery left for us in October 2022.

So I think the “worked with emery before” type links are just lazy journalism. We also can’t really buy off Chelsea and have 3 IMO better strikers than him already.

Really hope the reports are untrue as it would be a massive waste of our limited funds.

😂 must be coming then. Apparently he’s been following em for absolutely ages, probably followed Villa when we signed Garcia. We love a good rumour though seems likely he’s off to Ipswich or the like.

We're not getting Jackson for 2 reasons, we can't loan another player from Chelsea & if we sign him within 45 days of the Rogers deal for £65m it's classed as a swap & drastically reduces the profit on that deal. The whole reason for selling Rogers was to book the profit. The 46th day is the day after the window closes.

Not really, he still saw him in training every day, he's still the manager he worked with for a year. I'm not saying he definitely does or doesn't want him but "worked with him before" clearly isn't lazy journalism, it's just objective truth.

Linking him to us as someone we want to sign as a result is lazy, but that's not the same thing.

Also we don't have 3 better strikers, that's clearly bullshit, we have 1 who is better and 1 who, at best, is similar to Jackson. I have no idea who the 3rd is supposed to be.

By the same token, if we ARE after him, then Unai has seem him up close and personal in training over a prolonged period, he knows the player, and the person.  If he genuinely wants him here, there will be a very good reason for it.

I'm far from convinced about him as a player, but Bournemouth were ready to pay £22m for him after scoring just 3 goals for Villareal (he failed his medical), and Chelsea bought him 6 months later when he'd still only scored 13.  He clearly has something, even if I haven't seen it yet.
