Jones would be an expensive mistake and Palhinha only makes sense as a loan. If it's a permanent signing think I'd rather we find someone similar to Manzambi who is 20-23 but might need time to settle in. We have Gomes, Kamara and Barkley all ready to play now and Bogarde (who we'd be silly to let go unless someone offers something insane like £25m) as fairly experienced cover so we can afford the last midfielder to be one with an eye to taking over from Barkley next year when his contract runs out.

I'd like to see someone similar to Onana in most ways but a bit more willing to take risks with forward passes. Based on that, and purely going by stats, I'd see what Rennes want for Djaoui Cisse -
- Clearly he'd need much more scouting than I've done with this but on paper and from those highlights he looks a great fit, and would be about £15m and on fairly low wages.

Second this one PaulE

Wonder if any of the lads who went over to Saudi are now in the mix for coming back now they’ve made a bob or two, Ruben Neves would be a good fit for the Youri shaped hole in the midfield.

Problem is they all have to take a haircut on their wages to come back, although those willing are worth pursuing on that basis alone.

🚨 Aston Villa will use the money received for Morgan Rogers to sign the priority position of a fast winger, with Cryscensio Summerville & Ibrahim Mbaye among the leading targets.

'That is according to Villa chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider' - former chief executive.

Nothing new here, just some chap's opinion who used to work at Villa.
Maybe I could get a thing with football insider?  I was a kitchen porter in the summer we won the Intertoto Cup, and worked in the club shop for 4 weeks around Christmas the season after.  I'd say I was an ideal candidate for insightful comments about the Villa.
I watched my mate take a shit from the top of a tree and it landed on a grave. Sent my CV to football insider.

This is the shit I'm here for. Next season is going to be ace, the rest of the league won't know what's hit them

Great call Paul but you're well off with your pricing, Rennes turned down €30m from Inter last summer believing he could be worth double that in 12 months time. More recently Arsenal have been sniffing around. The lad looks a real talent with a very bright future.

Ollie has to stay. We need to keep some experience at the club.

Yeah of course but I’d imagine some of the sensible ones have priced that in, a few years of semi retirement in the desert for ludicrous wages in the middle of their careers rather than the end, bookended by proper competition. Well we can but dream.

Have Arsenal got as far as contemplating, considering or preparing for a bid? We might be down to our last month to get this deal sorted.

Bailey in talks with Hull City, permanent move apparently, not a loan.
I'm not the praying type but I might for this to happen.
