Hopefully the option is not an Elliot-style one, if so.

£25 million fee triggered after crippling 8 players.

We've negotiated a clever clause where it's only £10 million, if Wayne Rooney doesn't pronounce João correctly once during the season.

Daily Mail, Villa have made checks on Crysencio Summerville and have also been presented with the chance to sign Roony Bardghji.

From his wiki page…

In 2021–22, still under Amorim, Palhinha began facing stiff competition from newly signed Manuel Ugarte, with various injury issues limiting his time and his tackles also reduced compared to the previous season.[32][33] He later attributed this decline in tackles to the refereeing in Portugal, stating that "in Portugal he felt he couldn't make a tackle, every touch was a yellow card"

🚨 NEW: Aston Villa remain on standby for Emerson Royal — he has already informed Flamengo that his priority is to play in the Premier League.

Roony is a bit of a risk after his ACL injury, don’t think he’s had much game time. Might not be the same player, loan to buy maybe

Unlike the frankly lazy Manzambi, who's not contributed anything yet, Estupiñán at least already has a Villa goal to his name.

I would be happy to take a punt on Bardghji as the second winger option, on the proviso that Guessand, Bailey and Sancho, plus Rogers have gone, we need at least 2 wide players. Can't afford big money on both so a loan to buy wouldn't be the end of the world.

Summerville... Hmmmm. Not convinced he's that much better or different to Bailey.

And this is the standard we should be setting. Signings should be flying out the traps, before they’re even in them.

I’m presuming he thought the same about English refs then, as I’m sure he got something like 15 yellows in his first season at Fulham.

Looking at these everyone looks like a potentiall sending off but somehow he times them perfectly
