He had great statistics at Fulham, didn’t really take much notice of him last year at the times he wasn’t crippling our players.

A 12 month loan at the right price would make sense - as cover whilst Onana is out.
Wages plus loan fee would come out at c.£13.04m

Net off what we'll get from FIFA whilst Onana is absent £140k x 36 weeks = £5.04m (9 months out), and you're down to £8m.

Does he represent value at that level?
Will Bouba be happy to see him at BMH?

I think we need insurance in that position until Onana comes back. I don’t think Paulinha would get 13 bookings for us as I don’t think he’d be first choice.

I suppose if we got him in we’d probably sell Bogarde for £15/20m, and/or maybe let Barkley go.

I think if Rogers departs he'd be near the top of the list - but if Roma moved quickly then not much we could do.

Stories doing the rounds that we're looking at Joao Palhina from Bayern?

Here are the numbers:

Bayern want rid of him - he's surplus to requirements and spent last season on loan at Spuds

They signed him on a 4 yr deal in 2024  after 2 seasons at Fulham and paid €51m plus €5m in add-ons. He's on €10m a year.

He's got 2 yrs left on his contract, so his book value is €20.5m, add-ons are contingent liabilities don't affect book value.

So would we want to pay what Bayern are owed for a player who turned 30 last week and who will want c £8.5m pa in wages? Not for me.

And a loan is equally poor value - Bayern want a €5m loan fee and all of his wages covered too.

And let's not forget, he crocked Bouba so the antipathy from the fanbase will be pretty strong. Then you can factor in an average of 13 yellows a season over his 3 seasons in the Prem.

Wouldn't touch him with a barge pole.

Aye, same.

Even on loan.

He might be another Bailey. The only winger you can trust year on year is Jarrod fuckin' Bowen. Its a car-crash of a position.

His mate Maalen probably told him we don't do video sessions in Roma...off to Italy it is.

Gomes surely will be performing the Onana/Kamara role. So is this Swiss fella known for his creativity? Because that's what we're losing with Tielemans.
