Fulham fans seemed to love him and while I don't think Spurs fans loved any of theirs last season, I think they begrudgingly accept that he was one of the few players who did his job properly.

Have I missed something that means that Barkley is likely to leave?

I'd have thought that central midfield is the last position that we'd be trying to ship more bodies out from.

Lads I will caution that we’ll probably need to brace ourselves for the outgoing that is financing this business…

It might not be Morgan, but you feel as though one more “big” player is going to need to depart to free up the funds for both Manzambi and Gomes.

Have a feeling Arsenal might go for Konsa (instead of Rogers) with Saliba out for what looks like the rest of this year minimum.

I'd be happy to see Barkley leave and bring in a younger prospect.

No, I've no idea who.

I can't see us selling a first choice CB to fund buying midfielders!

Possibly the only one. I followed the Henry the Spurs podcast for the last few months of the season, partly because he loved everything about Villa and what we were doing but mainly for the comedy value. Palhinha was by his account the only player who gave a shit and delivered week in, week out.

A week ago I wouldn't be complaining if he had both his legs broken but as fickle as I am, if he can do a job for us, I'd willingly take him. I'll just have some humble pie to eat provided by my Sporting season ticket cousin here, who is still a big fan of Palhinha and would ideally have him back now.

His fall from grace has been spectacular today.

Paulinha is 31, loads of PL and European competition experience. He's a bit of dirty ****** as we know so he will need to address that. I would suggest a bouquet of some sort for Bouba when he sees him and spends all of training far away from him as possible.

2025–26 Season: Total Tackles - João Palhinha finished 2nd in the league with 110 total tackles, despite playing fewer minutes (2,208) than the other leaders:

Total Tackles

1.James Garner - Everton - 121
2. João Palhinha - Tottenham Hotspur - 110
3. João GomesWolves - 107
4. Elliot Anderson - Forest - 103

It's all about the Top Tackle Trophy.
