As someone pointed out previously, we've sold the best part of £50m and reduced the wage bill by £1m per week since the end of the season.  Surely that gives us some room to trade.

Still got Bailey and Guessand to move on as well...

Isnt the UEFA thing a net psotiive transfer balance?

Well, we can pick and choose who gets in the UEFA squad list. And as the UEFA reporting period is January to December, we can in theory leave someone out for the group stage, knowing we can pop them in come January for the harder fixtures.

Although one would think that our shiny new signings would be coming in partly because they want to play in the Champions League and might get the hump if they can't.

£90m spent which still makes me think the Rogers sale will be the one that balances it all out.

Are we not close to breakeven with Digne, Youri, Malen, Enzo, Dobbin etc…..

Good shout. If we can get slightly profitable (against book value) amounts for Ned, Bailey, Guessand and Bogarde I’ll be more optimistic.

Plus the increase in revenue, surely we’ll be fine as opposed to fined.

Which is nice

We’re at about £80m sold, if you include Digne, before you add anything for Onana, aren’t we?

Except it isn't £90m spent at all. If we did spend £90m, it would only be £9m actually being spent in the accounts between now and the end of the UEFA reporting period in December.

I'm pretty sure we've got £9m in the kitty.

Surely it’s Gomes instead of Palhinha?

This might be open to ridicule, and it's a big if, but if he stayed fit I reckon Barkley could more or less replace Tielemans
I'm with you on this one. Unfortunately it's a significant if, him staying fit for long enough to be able to rely upon him. However, I can't see anyone wanting to part with enough money for him to make it a worthwhile sale so I'd keep him and keep fingers crossed that he can enjoy an injury free season like he had at Luton.

Given what we all thought we needed this window I’m pretty surprised our first three signings are likely all central midfielders!!
I'm happy with this profile because we always pick up injuries through the middle. And, Onana's out.

Not sure we want a buy clause, just want him to go somewhere and play the season, his value in Jan or next summer should be back to what we paid by then IF he plays

Maybe. I think it’s impossible for enthusiastic laymen like us to know exactly where we are, but another positive is that fees in & out are averaged (by UEFA) over three years, so for instance there’s £13m from JJ to add in,  a third of whatever we made from Duran etc. And only a third of what we’re spending/receiving now of course.
