I suppose he'd be a useful back up option to Kamara / Onana who always seem to be ships passing in the night (hospital corridor).  Certainly not a first-team-busting signing though.

I suppose we'll find out in the next week or so who else is being sold.

I can’t remember seeing much of him other that game when he was a niggly bastard throughout but I suppose if Kamara can accept him then I should be able to as well.

Him being a niggly bastard is all there is to see really. There are times for that and if he was coming in to be a sub and make the odd appearance here and there then I'd be fine with it but if so we need someone else to replace Tielemans and this is just the short term cover for Onana.

This might be open to ridicule, and it's a big if, but if he stayed fit I reckon Barkley could more or less replace Tielemans

Except for the passing, shooting and mobility bit.

i think it's very much open to ridicule i'm afraid. firstly, he won't stay fit. his entire career proves that. secondly, he's nowhere near as good as Tielemans...

Such a shame Dougie couldn't recover his form.  I'd prefer a fit and on-form Luiz to most of the suggestions I've seen.

I also do rate Barkley when he's fit and think we should hold onto him.  He thrived at Luton with more starts.

I think he's one of those players that needs continuity to stay fit and at his best, but he impressed me last season when he was used. He can do the things Tielemans can do, maybe not as well but he can carry the ball better and beat a man as well. Between him and the new lad we can probably make it work, well Unai can anyway.

I agree about the run of games, for Luton he played pretty much all the time.

Players are also known for having great seasons when they're out of contract at the end of it.

Wouldn't surprise me if Barkley has the best February - May of his life.

Now that's a signing I'd support.  Good player.

YT didn't exactly have a perfect fitness record. I read he has missed almost 1 season over the last 3 with injuries?

But yeah, I like RB but too injury prone.

It would be nice for John Townley if the Gomes transfer goes through. I like John Townley. Haven’t really noticed the player though.
