I'm choosing to ignore that and concentrate on the bit about him being an AC Milan defender, so bound to be as good as Maldini or Baresi. Laursen without so many injuries would be more than acceptable.

By in large Brighton fans have mostly great things to say about him and aren't especially eager to see him come to us.

It's shaping up to be a 'new look' Villa. Summer 2020 is the last time we could really say that and look how well that turned out - fantastic signings that really pushed us on: Martinez, Watkins, Barkley, Cash and Traore. It was evolved nicely since then with the likes of Digne, Kamara, Buendia, Pau, Onana, Maatsen, Rogers etc but the core of the squad was in place by 2020 in a lot of ways - adding to McGinn, Mings.

Can see 3 or 4 new first team signings being prominent next season in addition to the likes of Alysson and Madjo coming in to play more of a part.

Yep, and in fairness, the squad does need to be overhauled. This is one of the most difficult things to do in football, but you can't look at last season's issues and not think there is a lot of room for improvement.

I'm not sure about a overhaul but we do need to evolve. The issues from last season did co-incide with the injuries in midfield that came all at once. We were flying at one point.

Don't be surprised if we're linked again with Benfica's right sided centre half, António Silva. We approached Benfica last summer but they didn't want to sell, now the player wants a move, ideally to the PL and Benfica are asking €20m. He'd be back up rather than a replacement to Konsa, not that I believe Konsa will be leaving.

Assuming you mean Neco rather than Spain winger Nico who is almost certainly out of our price range. We seem likely to be signing the Ecuadorian lad as a Digne replacement.
