Garcia gone to Getafe.

It's a loan deal?

The most Getafe have ever paid is €6.5m

So, they're not going to pay much if and when they do sign him.

If a loan, it gets his £780k pa wages (all or part) off the books whilst he is in the shop window with a view to getting a fee down the line. As it stands, nobody's going to give us anything for him.

Who knows? He might tear it up there with a bit of luck. He hasn’t really had much time to develop yet.

6 out, 2 in.

Despite not being entirely happy with who is going I think this already makes it a much better summer than the last because we're actually getting things moving outwards in the market, which means we know what we can do ourselves. Our shit start last season was, in no small part, down to then fucking mess of a window that left us with no idea what our squad was going to look like for the season when we kicked off against Newcastle.
Damn right (although, do we have 2 definitely in, yet?).
We need to get the Rogers uncertainty nailed quickly, either way. We also need to offload Bailey quickly and resolve whether Guessand is a stayer or a goer.
A big piece of business would be to get agreement on being able to play Brian from the start, because he looks like a  beast and may give us the 'Duran' factor.

I didn’t realise Pervis was at Milan permanently, thought it was just a loan from Brighton. Think he’d be a decent addition for relatively little cost.

I’m prematurely counting Manzambi (but not jinxing with a thread). Cisse’s the other one.

Apparently CF Valencia were interested in Garcia too, but instead they opted to sign Thomas Meunier (34yr old Belgian international RB) on a free transfer from Lille. Everything was in place for the move, but at the last minute, Runner decided to sign for Sunderland.

Valencia then resurrected their interest in Garcia, but by then he'd decided on a move to Getafe.

I think Bowen is the other experienced player that might be more likely since we have sold a couple of the oldies.

For some reason I am not worried about us finding a midfielder, we are good at that, we struggle with right wing and right back

I saw a piece where Danny Dyer has said how loyal Bowen was and that he intends to smash up the championship next season.

To be fair with family, size of the club and money spent on him they have every chance of a quick return so imagine he will stay.
If he got them back up 1st time of asking his loyalty will mean he would be a legend there.

Shame - i thought he would be great for us.

Would definitely go after Wharton - surely we could tempt them with Guessand, Bailey etc

I think Danny D is underestimating the Championship...as we well know.

Wharton surely would be beyond us financially. £60-75m?

£40m plus Guessand.

I’m getting the distinct impression they don’t want Guessand

They might want him but amongst a list of others. No need for them to go early in the window if it doesn’t suit them

Are we fully giving up on Guessand then?

I did after about 3 games, 😂. I’d love him to prove me wrong, but I’m sure we’d rather he try that elsewhere. Probably out on loan again

Cash and Digne came back into favour following pre season with Emery. See what happens.
