Getafe in talks with #AVFC over the signing of Andres Garcia. Loan initially discussed, but nothing has been formalised yet. 23yo returned yesterday (was not part of the loan group training away from the senior side for the past two weeks), but he is available to leave.

I'll believe it when the window shuts. Might not be allowed back into the country after tomorrow...

I thought they'd all only just got back together yesterday. What loan group?

Ooh, we have a bomb squad again do we? Happy memories.

After consideration, on hearing the multiple departures are we really surprised? Many commented that the side last season were approaching the end of their time, which made the victory on May 20th so much more meaningful.

The side needs a rebuild and players will leave and arrive but the only departure that would seriously worry me is that of the Manager. Long term success is based on being able to build a number of successful sides and hopefully we will see Emery's team MK2.

Personally, having won us a major trophy for the first time in 30 years the players can do what they like. Admittedly, joining Newton Heath is fucking horrible but we need to rise above it.

Rebuilding at pace is always a risk. Newcastle mismanaged their effort last summer by letting the Isak situation drag on too long. Now they can't hold onto their best players and Eddie Howe possibly is a bad start away from being fired. Leicester did a lot right after winning the PL but still fell away badly. As many of us thought last summer, this rebuilding likely would have started last summer only for the OT debacle.

It's to Emerys immense credit that after our shambles of the OT debacle/transfer window/horror start, that he managed to turn around things around spectacularly with the existing players. Only for an injury crisis we would have had a top 4 spot wrapped up by March and we pissed up the Europa league.

Different challenge this summer but a huge one nonetheless. Tielemans joining a direct rival is sickening but part of the cycle of rebuilding the team. Bigger question is on Martinez and Watkins, can we squeeze another 50+ game season out of them or it time to cash in our chips there too.

Totally agree with the sentiment - with the caveat that we might have hoped to avoid losing as major cog as Tielemans at this juncture - next year perhaps, but not quite yet.

But your point about Unai is the key one. He is the rainmaker, not any individual player.

On that note, it's quite a challenge for him, isn't it? He's renowned for improving players. But rebuilding a team - has he ever done that before? Intrigued to see how that storyline develops.

That would be great - we need to spend our money elsewhere.

Watkins for me should be considered an untouchable until next summer at least. Losing key playmakers is bad enough, but shifting your one consistent goal scorer when the market for a replacement is so high would be ridiculous. It's the one rumor that really worries me.

Fuck me - if Konsa goes - were apparently after Burns.  Really hoping none of that transpires

Would think Konsa has to be a linely departure, of all the big hitters, when you consider age, contract and probable value - what's the going rate, £40-45m or so?

If it were any more than that, probably not much more because of his age. Palace were asking for £70m for Guehi when he was 24, so Konsa at five years older than that feels like £50m to me.

I can't imagine Burns being an Emery pick.

Links to Freiburg's goalie now, Noah Atubolu;

Sky Germany are claiming he's likely going to the Prem, and there's a 'surprise'.  :o
