Budget option: How about Norgaard on loan for a season?  He was Brentford's captain, so presumably a good egg, and plays as a proper DCM.

Arsenal have promoted Lewis-Skelly ahead of him so he's probably 4th choice at Arsenal.

Now that manu have moved on to Youri, is Ederson any good?

not sure but he's about to sign a bumper new contract so assume there was some sort of change of heart

ManU had concerns over his medical, given our record he'd probably explode 5 mins into his debut if we signed him.

I can't see Bogarde leaving right now, unless we already are well on the way to lining up some midfield reinforcements or Emery us convinced he can't use him.

Go for Wharton Villa. Offer Guessand up as part of the deal.

A great proposition....on two counts.

Out of our range I’d expect. Adding Guessand would only increase the fee

And Bailey. And Bogarde thinking about it. Their squad is light, they could do with a few players. Remind them how generous we've been to them over the years, even giving Forest a smacking for them.

After consideration, on hearing the multiple departures are we really surprised? Many commented that the side last season were approaching the end of their time, which made the victory on May 20th so much more meaningful.

The side needs a rebuild and players will leave and arrive but the only departure that would seriously worry me is that of the Manager. Long term success is based on being able to build a number of successful sides and hopefully we will see Emery's team MK2.

Personally, having won us a major trophy for the first time in 30 years the players can do what they like. Admittedly, joining Newton Heath is fucking horrible but we need to rise above it.

If Blunderland think he's good enough to fill Xhaka's boots, we should be keeping him!
But if we genuinely don't think he's quite good enough, make sure we price him at a young-Xhaka value!

Great player but too lightweight to anchor an entire midfield (like Kamara does) and I think that’s what we need.

If Bogarde was sold, along with all the other departures, could we find enough buttons to buy Bouaddi? Is he as good as they say or just flavour of the month following some good WC games?

The players that I'd keep until they wear out and have no value are McGinn and Mings (done already). Everyone else we need to sell whilst they retain a value. Only by doing that will we keep up with the pack, and then only with a fair wind, good judgement on player purchases and Emery staying until we are embedded in the top 4.

The aforementioned players have / have had a value way over what we could ever have extracted, effectively part of the clubs DNA.

Then there are players like Martinez and Watkins, that are likely to always cost more to replace than we would get for them. Effectively almost in the same class.

Everyone else can go if the offer is good enough, so long as it gives us enough time in the given window to replace with younger / better.
