Javi Guerra and Ayyoub Bouaddi are also ones we can look at .  Guerra be cheaper of course.

What is he good for?

Hu, absolutely nothing.

Conversely, I went to a valencia match and he was by far the best player in the pitch.  Almost identical skill set to Youri.

I see what you did there… surprised no-one else caught it!

I get that people worry whenever someone leaves, and we are inclined to think the worst, and yes, last season was definitely a success...

But if we break last season down, we had no wins in the first 5 games, 3 wins in 12 between the end of December and the end of March, and one win in 5 across April and May.

Just 7 wins in our last 20 league games of the season. A team that lost at home to Everton and Brentford, couldn't beat a shockingly bad relegation-fodder Wolves away, and let Burnley off with a draw.

So it's not like we are breaking down the treble winners or something. It's a side that for periods last season, more than half of it in fact, looked utterly abject.

Something quite obviously needs to change if we are to progress. Yes, change is always a risk, but we have as much to gain as we have to lose.

🚨🟣🔵 Pervis Estupiñán, high on Aston Villa three-men short list at left back. 🇪🇨

He’s already worked with Emery at Villarreal and deal is on with #AVFC, talks ongoing.

We want three men at left back? In a big trenchcoat?

We did but have become somewhat inured to BV's quick-mindedness and don't want to acknowledge his cleverness.

That's the spirit!

Also din't we beat Man City and Liverpool last 2 matches?

I read somewhere that Barcelona are looking to sell Ferran Torres. If the Watkins to Turkey rumours are true then wouldn’t be a bad replacement.
Going to PSG, I read somewhere.

Quite a bit of housekeeping so far:

Dobbin
Malen
Elliott
Luiz
Sancho
Barry
Swinkels
Barrenechea

Have I missed anyone?

What do we reckon best guess wages wise on these?

Just for fun:

Dobbin - 30k
Malen - 140k
Elliott - 60k
Luiz - 100k
Sancho - 160k
Barry - 35k
Swinkels - 5k
Barrenechea - 40k

£570k a week? £30m a year?*

*No brickbats please - mental arithmetic while walking round Asda so there might be some milk & bacon in there.

Bloody hell…..this aged well Percy !!!!!

Still accurate isn’t it, apart from a couple of additions?
Absolutely, I just meant it needs an update already.
And probably another one before the ink dries.

Adding Digne and Tielemans to the list, accounting for amortisation and bonuses it's over £50m now I'd guess.

How high is high on a three-man short list? Only top, surely?

Something quite obviously needs to change if we are to progress. Yes, change is always a risk, but we have as much to gain as we have to lose.

Those periods of poor form, apart from the horrible start, largely coincided with the absence of key players through injury. We face the prospect of one of our best midfielders plus first choice left back out the door plus another with our now annual ' might be back by next April scenario'. Other clubs, after a bit of success are able to strengthen, we just fret about who we might lose and have we got enough to pay the ever more regular fines coming our way. It's the hope that kills you they say and sometimes we seem to have little else. Yes, we had a great season last year but winning a major trophy and finishing fourth doesn't seem to move us forward.
