IMO, our biggest asset is the manager, and I want him to get who he wants. But I wouldn’t be against getting the band back together with JJ & Dougie as the rhythm section. Both still in their prime age-wise.

His attitude is evidently a big problem so no thanks.

Chelsea are seemingly looking for £50m for Garnacho. They paid £40m for him this time last year, he had a woeful season & they want more than they paid. I wouldn't pay £10m for him.

Having said that I expect us to make a loan move for him.

Loan to buy £25m. Let Emery get the best from him.

He wouldn't be on my wishlist but you could see Emery getting something out of him.

Could say that about lots of players but wingers are the flakiest fuckers. Build them in-house, blood them and sell them on when they start to get lazy.

We keep trying wingers but they keep failing. Maybe worth trying a different type of profile of player. We were in for Gallagher last January and it's strange we haven't been linked with a similar player yet this summer. Garnacho is a very talented player, scorched Cash at Villa Park last season, but a bit like Sancho it seems football is a long way down his list of priorities.

Riyad Mahrez is available and *might* be an option if we went down the pay as you play route on a short term deal.

Can play anywhere across the front three and CL experience.

Banjaxes the average age of the squad even further, mind.

Good grief no. A brilliant player in his peak, but I suspect the World Cup was the end of his top level interest.

If we're going for aging North Africans, I'd prefer Trez back

I'd go for Mansa Musa. He would fit the bill as far as Nas and Wes are concerned.

To be honest I think we need to get beyond the “getting the band back together” mentality. It feels a bit lacking in imagine and we need to start identify new, emerging, talent who can create their legacy with the club.

JJ is the only one I might genuinely consider, but even then I can’t see there being value in any transfer for him.

Fair enough mate. I was watching 22/23, 23/24 highlights all morning and it gave me a warm feeling inside.

Aston Villa are among clubs attentive to Johan Manzambi situation with Newcastle.

Newcastle agreed terms with Freiburg but waiting on player’s green light to proceed.

#AVFC interested and attentive; it’s up to the player.
