With the success of the Brighton/Bournemouth everyone is trying to pull this trick. Newcastle are in this market and so are Man Yoo. The value in a market is not following the herd, which means I wonder if we continue to go for the oldies.

Hmmm scratchy face emoji.  Has a club had sustained success using this approach?

The only time I can think of, is the '91 Washington Redskins. So probably not the best strat

Inter were pretty successful with and old team until they come up against PSG in the Champions League final.

I still scratch my head at how remarkably shite Guessand was.

I kind of get how the Elliot shambles came about, but I don't understand how all that recruitment analysis and data came up with a competition winner like Evann.

He was given a decent amount of gametime to get up to speed, but just didn't get out of the blocks.

I assume he is a write-off, but is there any chance he's rehabilitated back into the squad this summer?  Or is he really as shite as he looks?

If Guessand has been one of 3/4 30m signings last summer he would have some slack given to him - as he was the only real price tag signing the focus was laser focussed on him.  There’s clearly a very good player in there but is it as a wide player?, what we saw suggests not so absolutely questions why we went for him when wide was required.

It’s not clear to me there’s a good player in there certainly not at the level we need

There definitely is, not convinced it will be in the intensity of PL tho (see also Sancho) - Bundesliga / Ligue 1 or Serie A he’d pick up as a very good player, we just need to recoup what we spent which might be tricky….very tricky

The bloke who writes about us for the Daily M*il and everyone's boyfriend, Dan Bardell, reckon the story has legs.

Unless we have something up our sleeve this feels a bit mad. I can't see why we would want to sell him and I can't see why he would want to go there.
