Fenerbahçe, continuing its efforts to strengthen its attacking line before the new season, has taken a significant step in its search for a striker. Following Vedat Muriqi's injury, the Yellow-Blues have accelerated their efforts and reached an agreement with Ollie Watkins, known as Aston Villa's goal machine. It has been learned that the management has agreed on a 3-year contract with the 30-year-old English striker. According to the agreement, Watkins will earn 9 million Euros annually from Fenerbahçe, and the experienced player has accepted all the terms offered by the club. 25 MILLION EURO OFFERED
While official contacts began last week for Watkins, who has a contract until 2028, it was stated that Aston Villa opened negotiations at 35 million Euros. The Yellow-Blue management, however, aims to complete the transfer for approximately 25 million Euros. Negotiations between the parties are expected to intensify in the coming days.

That's €9m a year over three years with a fixed tax rate of 20%. That's €21.6m in Watkins bank account after tax in 3 years.

The net contract for a footballer in Turkey is very different to the net contract for a footballer more or less anywhere - big names at big clubs pay hardly any tax, so £150k per week over there is is probably worth a few million more per year than £150k per week here.

Not that I think we'll be selling him to Fenerbahce.

A weekly wage of one hundred and fifty thousand of your Great British Pounds would see him paying 45% tax (plus NI). That's £82,500 a week before NI.
