Boz Scaggs wrote it, Rita Coolidge covered it and hit the charts.

Reports linking us with a bid for Pedro Vite, the 24yo Ecuador midfielder currently playing in Mexico;

https://sportwitness.co.uk/aston-villa-will-submit-formal-offer-for-signing-good-chance-versatile-player-will-move-this-summer/

Apparently they want about £9m for him and a promise that nobody will sing the Vitalite song during negotiations.

Well, thanks a bloody lot. I've only just got rid of that Um Bongo song and now I'll have Vitalite in my head. You're an utter teacup!

I do try.  :P

I did try and get hold of Um Bongo for tonight. Apparently you can get it in Tesco and Iceland, but none in our Tesco here. I despatched an agent to the Iceland bulk shop thing in Tamworth and none to be found there, either.

A sad day.  :-\

Apparently they don't want to sell Royal now because they don't have cover for their main guy if they do;

https://sportwitness.co.uk/aston-villas-emerson-royal-pursuit-stalls-flamengo-throw-spanner-in-works/

According to this, the issue isn't financial... but something tells me another million or so would change that.

I hope the club are looking elsewhere, they've already upped the price twice and have now backed out.

Agree.  The logic that he'd be a cheap understudy diminishes as the cost increases. I'm surprised we haven't gone harder for the Celta guy Mingueza.

I'll say it first: how about a Bid for Wissa; terminate his nightmare at the Jawdies?

Absolutely not. They paid £55M for a 28 year old. 29 now. It would be like us spending that on Bowen. Good player but not at that price or salary.

If Emery didn't like Malen I don't see him liking Wissa. And they'd probably want £50 million, we aren't playing that for a second choice forward.

You know what they call a Quarter-Pounder in Rio? Overpriced.

Ha! I was bored and thought I'd see if we'd signed Gonçalo Ramos. ;)

Not sure if it’s been posted but Barrenechea has been sold today. Maybe the date suited one of the clubs, or both, because he met the terms of the obligation months ago.
