If we had a functioning striker who knows what we could achieve

OK.

You can see where Emery wants control with Barkley in midfield, just depends how long he lasts.

As for Ollie, just not happening for him, we get into so many good positions with FA end product.

I'd bring Rogers on for the second half.

Watkins needs to join the AA as everything breaks down with him...😑

Half time.
Not too bad but some very, very poor individual performances.

Barkley and Ginny won’t last 90 mins so we need to be still in this by the time they are replaced.

Barkley looked to be gassed chasing back that counter before half time. 15 mins max there. Game being played at pedestrian pace so might get a bit more out of McGinn.

I’d have taken 0-0 at half time ( and full time )

But we are so so poor upfront. Make a change please Unai.

Watkins should definitely be hooked at half time

He wont be thou but we need a forward player who can control and hold the ball up and It aint him.

Fair f#cks to the Villa fans singing Ollie a mercy chant, but might have been the home support celebrating his 'performance'

This is okay, a point from this wouldn't be the worst thing, that's the positive, looks like we are trying to coast our way through the game, playing to contain Utd, problem is we have no bite, I'm sure Carrick will bring Sesko on for the killer goal, so we have to get in there with some kind of attacking prowess to put them on the back foot, has to be Tammy and Elliot, get them on.

This commentator needs to do his homework. Twice now he reckons we beat them in November. It was Christmas week.
Not too bad so far but no cutting edge from us.

Digne was embarrassingly poor for Dalot's chance.

Think the other thing we have to be conscious of is the ref, he's made some uncomfortable decisions, albeit not significant at that point of the game but something tells me he's got it in him to have an influence on the game come the time so we need to be careful with that one.

So far ok in a really poor game all round. I thought they would really go for us from the off, but they have been strangely passive.

Barkley and McGinn have given us much needed compusure in the middle of the park but as Neville said, we lack belief that we can hurt them.

Early on Digne had chances to break quiclky, but he was content to slow it down and play back and square.

Buendia has been Buendia and I hate to pile in on Watkins, but he has been atrocious.

The trouble is we have all seen this movie before and you know the longer this goes on, they are going to create at least one moment of magic and/or get a dodgy decision and the game will be up.
