Annoying narrow 2.1 win for them with Sesko scoring late on

Im contemplating avoiding it totally on Sunday.
It's Mother's Day: my Mum has given me the perfect excuse to avoid this game!

She sounds great.

Me and my boy are taking the good lady out for lonch so probably get back in time to see them score the winner.

Last 2 Mother's Day for the record

Villa 0 . 4 Spuds. However that was a pyrrhic victory for them as it transpired.
Preston 0 .3 Villa. See above come 4 weeks later.

Sesko does have a goal in him but isn't much of an athlete, in the way Pedro is. Think that will make it easier on Konsa and Torres bringing the ball out from the back and keeping our line tight. Maatsen on left and Bogarde will continue on right. Worried we will be outnumbered in the middle like we were
v Chelsea but McGinn even 70% fit is a massive improvement over Bailey. I guess Buendia, Rogers and Watkins for the other three spots. Rogers form has collapsed so really could do with him returning to form.

If we release Onana to press higher like he did v Lille then there's a risk Fernandes will have loads of space to cause problems. But it's a risk worth taking for me. Mbuemo will target Bogarde too. If we do win a dirty 1-0 win like under Deano will be perfect. Ollie again.

With Cash and Sancho out, we'll need to be strong down our RHS, so hopefully SJM is fit and ready.

                  Martinez
Bogarde   Konsa   Torres   Digne
           Luiz           Onana
   McGinn     Rogers     Watkins
                Abraham

I'd strengthen the left side (to counter the Amad / Mbuemo threat) with Watkins playing in a wide role; controversial, maybe;  unlikely, for sure!

another option would be to play Maatsen there like he did last night.

Emery could go with that alright, wouldn't be my choice. Much prefer Maatsen at left back to Digne these days. Hard to second guess Emery, Elliot could be back in from the cold (again). Hope we don't see Bailey on right and McGinn left.

We definitely can't have any of Sancho on the pitch at any time.

Fuck this fixture forever.

Yep that's where I'm at as well. I hate those fuckers.  I'll miss it as I'm going to Project Hail Mary. A great distraction from the inevitable dodgy penalty won by ratface to make it 2 - 0 to them.

I just can't see us getting anything from this one.

I’ve done a wildcard and lobbed in Fernandes, Mbeumo and Sesko.

As an orphan, I'm available for hire on Mother's Day. No Mother too big or small. Very competitive rates.

I hate watching this fixture, and say i'm going to give it a miss, but always have that thought in the back of my mind that it might be different this time.
It rarely is.
Kudos to any Villa fans going to OT.

I really hope it is different this time.

0-1 - Luiz penalty
