Great article as usual. It seems like a week is a really long time in football. Not sure if I should be looking up or down when it comes to other teams results.

Very good, Dave. I don't quite feel the same optimism that this could finally be our year as I felt in January 1981 after we'd beaten Liverpool, mainly because of the resources of the other contenders, but we're 3rd on merit, at times are quite brilliant and the others have their weaknesses. As Unai says, let's see how the table looks after 35 games.

Great article.
And a perfect line about Bailey, his realisation that it’s his last chance at the best club he’ll ever play for.

I feel like the genius of this season is turning our weakness against everyone else, namely not being able to strengthen the squad, into our superpower, we appear to be the most settled and synchronised team in the league.

The comment on Bailey fits with what John Gregory said in his recent Villa podcast interview, about how, when you leave Villa, it's going to be a downward step.

He said that was absolutely true of his career after he left Villa.
