I know needs must, but we'd be a better team/squad with Malen than Tammy.

There's a programme on Now TV/HBO called "The Big Interview" featuring Tammy. I haven't watched it because I hate football, but thought it might interest some on here.

Malen has been a big miss for us even more so by the crap we brought in.

It would be interesting to see a comparison between results during the first half of the season with Malen in the squad, and the subsequent period without him. He obviously didn’t play every game, but as an impact sub he was effective. Better to have a different type of striker to Ollie so that we can mix things up a bit when Plan A isn’t working.

Downside is that exact time frame is before/after Kamara in so they will certainly be skewed into the negative which has nothing to do with Malen/Tammy.

What is undeniable is Malen gave us an option that gave us something different - and crucially pace. We don’t have the ability to change games now, and clearly Unai thinks that as he increasing leaves it later and later to make subs.

I thought it was a poor decision at the time, and I still do. He wanted to start, fair enough, but you telling me he was going to down tools in the lead up to a World Cup? Doubt it.

Malen was a good sub but his back to goal play was non existent. Similar to Tammy in that regard, I thought Tammy would be a lot stronger in holding the ball up but no evidence of that. Fair play to Malen for showing his worth at Roma but it's a different style of play completely.

Different standard too. Wolves would kick Vardy and Cremonese's arses 5-0 at least.

This is where I am with it, he turned many games for is with his impact and we've absolutely missed it.

There's no way he would've sulked, he appeared to be fully integrated, the fans and his teammates seemed to love him. Unless our arses are so close to line that it's the difference between clearing the financials and getting penalised, I cannot agree that it's been anything other than the very poor decision it looked at the time.

Also, was his World Cup place particularly at threat? At the point he left us he'd started five of the Netherlands previous six matches.

They seemed pretty pleased by what he was doing with us.

Yeah, that thought crossed my mind too.

It just seemed odd, and still does, that we were so eager to allow it to happen, and wouldn't just say 'soz but we're absolutely firing on all fucking cylinders here and you can wait untill the summer'

It's called a Trivela in case you wondered. Just don't read the comments below the video. These Italians and especially the Dutch are highly excitable.
