Unai Emery says John McGinn could be sidelined for "some weeks", but the #AVFC captain will continue to be assessed in hope that he can recover quicker.

"We are still waiting because he is still visiting some doctors to have a decision what to do."

It's a similar line as the initial Kamara assessment isn't it? So I'm fully expecting the season ending announcement to come next week.

What's the news on Barclay does anyone know?

He was sitting in the same kind of area as me on Sunday, a bloke asked how long he was out for and he did that very French gesture of pushing the corners of his mouth down, holding his hand with his palm down and wobbling his hand.

Does that answer your question?

Not too far off I think. Posted an Instagram story a few days back of him in training with the heading 'Soon'.

Speaking at Friday afternoon’s pre-match press conference at Bodymoor Heath, the Villa boss said: “Of course, we will need tomorrow, how the players played yesterday will be.

“Because, after one match, often the players, they are feeling a little bit tired or something even with being painful.

“And the players they weren’t yesterday, Kamara and McGinn, they are out of course.

“McGinn, update I don’t have, because he is visiting some doctors. We’ll know his assessment in a few days. Kamara is out, of course.

“Leon Bailey, he came back as well, thinking to help us quick.

“His adaptation is not necessary. He knows us and he is coming here fit. For Sunday, he is going to be available.”

Emery also gave a positive update on Ross Barkley who, having recently returned to individual training, is close to joining back in with the group.

He added: “Barkley is training individually, but close to being with the group, maybe next week.

“Those three players (Barkley, McGinn, Kamara), at the beginning, they are not available for Sunday.

“Tomorrow we will see, other players, how they are.”

An ominous final comment given that Bizot was assessed on the pitch and Ollie nearly had his achilles ripped out by that twat.
