Consensus on Sunday was it was a meniscus tear for SJM.

Which would see him out a couple of months minimum?

Depends what grade of tear it is. I'm only going off what my brother briefly mentioned last night when he saw this (he toyed with being a sports physician), he said a grade 1 tear wouldn't be too bad, perhaps 1-4 weeks.

Who knows though. He had a scan yesterday and someone who met him at the Hospital posted a pic somewhere. Looked in good spirits and wasn't on crutches, though that doesn't mean a great deal.

If Kamara and SJM are out for a long spell we are in deep shit.

Nothing on SJM yet - scan yesterday. From the same source as the Kamara news.

Yeh just wait until that news breaks and it’s inevitably worse than we hope. This place will be broken.

Sancho.

He only had a cold.

Might be back for the final game of the season, then.

Meniscal tears aren't graded. If it is a meniscal tear, a repair will mean several months out. But the whole idea of him having a meniscus injury seems to have arisen from someone on here once tearing their meniscus. On that basis, he could have chickenpox because I did once.

Give him an iron bru, he'll be fine. Can't lose him and Kamara for a number of games, we'd be screwed.

That was from a (non football side)club director 90 mins after game.Via medical team.

But their first impression and best guess themselves. Scan will reveal all I guess

Depending on the severity of the meniscus tear it is usually only a few weeks out. Clean up, rest and recovery. Still woudl be shit to lose him on the back of the Kamara news.

Well not at Aston Villa. It's usually a career finisher.

Since the late 90s, they've repaired tears in the red vascular zone which is a lot longer rehab.  In the 90s, they just used to trim them which is why Ally McCoist crazily played the day after. In the 70s and 80s, they used to whip them out completely which is what finished Gary Shaw's career.

Fair enough. Apologies. Mensical tears are pretty easy to diagnose without a scan so it could well be that then.
