It was probably a game for Mings to deal with Barry, but you can't just chuck him in after giving him no minutes post-injury. You could just tell McGinn going off sucked the life out of us, particulary having to replace him with that lump Guessand. We'd started so poorly I'd have been tempted to bring Mings on instead and gone 352/343 especially with Barry causing problems.

We coped pretty easily with their front line.
What you can’t account for your is when your own senior players fuck up for no reason and gift goals in crucial matches.

Obviously gutted yesterday, if it hasn't been posted before,  I think our magnificent winning run of 11 home matches on the bounce deserves a mention, a joint club record. A huge well done to Unai and the boys.

I heard on the 1874 podcast earlier than McGinn had an issue with his knee in the warm up or certainly pre match.
Did anyone see anything as I couldn’t make it and switched it on just at kick off?

File today with Sheffield United. olympiacos, Palace SF and Old Trafford last day of the season. Chance to move to the next level and we froze.

Though if Rogers had bought his shooting boots would have been a different result. Would have liked to see him move wide left and Buendia into the middle for the last 30 minutes too
Think you have to take the McGinn, Onana, Kamara issue into account before making this association

Everton missing Ndiaye, Dewsbury-Hall and Gueye yesterday too though

Yeah, Grealish looked pretty average without his mates to back him up. No Barkley, Onana or Gana-Gay to join Jack in the Villa-Everton love-in.

For some reason our 15 home-game winning streak two years ago seems to have been rendered void and unremembered.

It ran across two season but they were all league games. More impressive than the current 11 which included gimmes in the Wafer Cup.

Haven't read the whole thread so this may have been mentioned but in hindsight, I think Lindeloff would have been a better choice than Torres yesterday.

Sorry may have been mentioned but thought there was a lot of slipping around yesterday.  I know it was wet but seemed a bit too frequent
