I think I might be showing my age also

Edit - which is poignant as it’s my birthday today

I’m quite enjoying us being genuinely so much more superior to all the teams who have seen us as a walkover for so many years.

I was surprised with the double scanning of tickets and the airport mettle detectors. Lovely stadium though and great view from the back of the upper tier. Bit of a faff getting back to the car at Cockfosters, the less said about service stations on the M1 the better. A long old day as gone 12 by the time we got home.

Still when we play like we did in the first half and the goals were brilliant it makes it worth while. Great to see Rogers and Bogarde backing Ollie up at the end. Fantastic support and a great day  that many don’t get to experience as often as they’d like.

Happy birthday John.

We have all been on the Spurs end of results like that when we were shit. Get completely outclassed for a half, got two or three down. Then come out after half time and show a 'reaction', hopefully get a goal back and get the crowd on side only to burn out and see the superior opposition take the initiative back.

The bit we don't do well enough yet is score the killer goal or two to completely kill off opposition teams.

I don't remember 'experts' talking about our plucky defeats in the same way they are talking about Spurs performance yesterday in the second half. For all their effort, they had very little to show for it and their attacking was pretty chaotic for the most part.

That’s because they never, ever have.  It was nauseating.

I have to give thanks to Baldy of this site who gave me the best location to park for commuting to the stadium.  No hassle at all as it worked perfectly. As the driver, I unashamedly took all the credit.

As pointed out by another poster on here, the absence of Var gave them licence to kick lumps out of our players. So that’s what they did from the off.

We parked a 10 minute walk away and got and out with no traffic whatsoever.

It was oldhill_avfc I should be thanking, just checked back. Thanks again oldhill. Apologies to Baldy for the confusion.
