You can't manufacture a history. What we have at Villa Park is very real, has been created and cemented with every walk across Aston park or past the church. It's been earned in every frustrating home draw and every pitch invasion. If there's anyway at all we can compete at the very top on a more equal footing at Villa Park than elsewhere it should be explored and I believe that's what we are doing.

We have something precious in Villa Park, a footballing fortress now not a pop concert venue.

We’ve now won 7 of our last 9 against Spurs, first time since the early 90’s we’ve regularly got the better of them.

Long may it continue.

Yep the Spurs thing does seem to go in phases we were dominant throughout the 90s they then had our number particularly in the lost decade from 10-20 but we’re getting on top again now.

I’m still fuming this morning at their thuggery. They did exactly what Arsenal did to us except they didn’t have the quality or ability to execute anything like that level of comeback. In fact, their twat of a Manager didn’t have an answer tactically so just decided to say pressing, physicality and fouling is the answer. It was like Dirty Leeds from the early 70s.

You definitely got the feeling that they were taking advantage of the absence of VAR.

But even before VAR, you couldn’t just do what you wanted.

I watched Spurs against Liverpool and they could quite easily have had at least three sent off. They are suddenly a dirty side and awful to watch. The manager seems to have created a toxic atmosphere and wants them to play this way. I missed yesterday’s game, but seen the highlights and the interviews afterwards. To think they want to take the moral high ground still over Cash and blame Ollie for the ruckus, which yeah I agree, he wound them up, so what, that player was dishing it out all match.

They've always been a dirty team, going back to hatchet donkeys like Graham Roberts and Paul Miller, only they wear white and are the press darlings, and Glenn Hoddle etc.

I’ve not really paid too much attention to them as I can’t stand the media love in, but considering how much they dish it out they are like you say, a bunch of whining twats!

We have all been on the Spurs end of results like that when we were shit. Get completely outclassed for a half, got two or three down. Then come out after half time and show a 'reaction', hopefully get a goal back and get the crowd on side only to burn out and see the superior opposition take the initiative back.

The bit we don't do well enough yet is score the killer goal or two to completely kill off opposition teams.

I don't remember 'experts' talking about our plucky defeats in the same way they are talking about Spurs performance yesterday in the second half. For all their effort, they had very little to show for it and their attacking was pretty chaotic for the most part.

Same with West Ham.  Both clubs have this mythical pretense of playing the "right" way and get lauded when they have the occasional skilled talent. Yet, I cannot think of a time when they haven't fielded a thug or two.

They had one go at copying us 2nd half, played through the press with a ball up to the forwards feet who laid it off to the midfielder, who looked up and couldn't find anyone, and then ended up going back to the keeper.
Me and my nephew just laughed at their ineptitude.

2nd time I’ve been to spurs new stadium and I won’t be rushing back
the stadium itself is fine probably the best of the new bowls type but what an arse ache getting in and out

Walking to the seven sisters is a right trek and then a que for another 30/40 mins
the overground station just as bad then you got to join the que again at SS, Witton station is a piece of piss compared to all that fucking about

searched 3 times before getting in and put your keys and shit in a trolley thing like your getting on a long haul flight, I suppose it’s London security but the whole thing is to much for an old un like me

good game, good performance, great result
Fingers crossed for Bouba 🤞
