I was always scared of kids called Lee. They were always a bit tasty, in my experience (and I'm from Telford, where Lee was the name you came with).

I can think of one who's not so much scary as dangerous.

Tru dat

I was twice pranged in my car with a Lee as the passenger

I was also nearly backed over by a minibus (non-African driver) whilst stood by said Lee :)

Bruce Lee, Lee Van Clef, Lee Majors, it's nominative determinism, it's a tough guy name. You have to live up to it.

Lee Child and Lee Evans.

Surprised to hear of anyone under 40 named Brian

Apparently there were 71 new Brian's in the Uk in 2024, which is more than I expected and more than there were new Paul's (65) and Lee's (22).

I'm genuinely stunned that any kids born this year share my name, it feels like it was exclusively the preserve of 1974-1978.
No way! Only 65 new Pauls in the entire UK in 2024?

To bring this back onto football, anyone think he might be on the bench this weekend considering our lack of forward options

Yeah that surprised me as well as I thought Biblical names would always do solid business.

Maybe Breaking Bad has done a kind of reverse-Damascene-conversion and they're all getting called Saul now?

Compared to the many other videos of 16 year olds playing first team football?

I think he was playing in Junior matches in those reels but I did think he looked like a cross between Emile Heskey and John Fashanu. Not that it's necessarily a bad thing....

Main reason classic names are going out of fashion is all the people that give their kids really stupid names these days. Like Prime Gucci Anderson, or Deshawnity Devenitee Adams.
