Seems to have gone a bit quiet on this signing. Perhaps they're waiting to announce it tomorrow on Brian's 17th birthday??

I can imagine the conversation with Unai at Bodymoor.

"We'll be sending you on loan."

"You won't."

"Er, okay then you can stay here with the under-21s."

"First team."

"Hmmm, that's fine. It'll be good experience for when you're in the matchday squad."

"Next week."

"That's a bit early. I was thinking perhaps towards the end of the season"

"Next week."

"Perhaps we could have you on the bench."

"Starting."

😂

I was about to jump in to say there was a Brian in my year at school, before I remembered that I haven’t been under 40 for eight years. Life is unbearable.

One of my best mates as a kid had a baby brother called Brian, but yes he would be over 40 now as well. It's a shit business.

Yes, we're having a sing-a-long to "Oh what a lovely war" this afternoon and I want to be flying for it.

Apparently there were 71 new Brian's in the Uk in 2024, which is more than I expected and more than there were new Paul's (65) and Lee's (22).

I'm genuinely stunned that any kids born this year share my name, it feels like it was exclusively the preserve of 1974-1978.
