I dipped into their main forum at half time to have a nose at what they were saying and was astonished by how much they hate Villa. They seem to have almost Blues’ level of hatred for us. Bizarre

Brighton fans are having a meltdown about us on sm. Apparently we are diving whinging cheats who influenced the ref to give everything in our favour which is quite a coincidence because that's exactly how I described them on our WhatsApp group last night. But obviously I'm right and they're wrong. I challenged one of them about their first goal not being a corner and he said "that's football sometimes they get it right and sometimes they get it wrong" I didn't reply I just left him to consider that he might just be using double standards in his argument. Oh and they have a strange hatred for Unai Emery. God knows why as he hardly ever complains about wrong decisions and I've always found him to be a likeable chap even when he was at Arsenal.b

The Brighton fans I spoke to after the match last night (got the park and ride with them) were all pretty gracious and said they just couldn’t cope with our press in the second half. Suspect there’s a degree of social media w***ery in your encounters 🤣.
Oh I totally agree. Social media is not a place to judge a fanbase or anything else really.  Brighton fans in general are a decent bunch. Went there a few years back and met some good lads. We invited a group of them up to the Villa Tavern a couple of seasons ago and we had a top day from the bits I can remember.

I just think they need a proper rivalry to vent their spleen. The Brighton/Palace "rivalry" is forced and a bit of a joke to football fans of other clubs who have actual proper rivals.

It's because they have "Albion" in their name.

It’s not surprising as we always stuff them and it’s a guarantee Ollie will score.

It's a mix of us always beating them and us always rolling over for Palace.

Brighton fans, just like Bournemouth and Brentford, seem to have bought into the hype that they're something special and it's created a weird arrogance in parts of their fan base that rivals the bullshit from the sky 6.

None of them seem to realise that they're 1 bad season away from being Wolves/Swansea/Leicester/etc.

They also collude with the Sky 6 as they are happy with the status quo. They know their lane 14th to 7th and a possible cup run. Happy with that and keep the money flowing so they have the advantage over bigger teams in the championship. It inhibits us newcastle and possible Everton moving up a notch.

Why are 10 teams playing both their games between Christmas and New Year at home and the other 10 having to play both of theirs away? Doesn't make sense to me.

Imagine if Guessand and Watkins both found a bit of form and had a decent December.

That would be lovely timing.
Was thinking something similar, Dave.

Not that Guessand was brilliant, even in the things he did well (still lacked a bit of conviction), but it was much better.

That's a hell of conspiracy.

FWIW I know several Brentford fans and all are happy and content they are playing top flight football and at this rate probably will be for another 18months at least. And know it won't last forever.

One thing I take from this game is that Unai has really got his rotation theory humming in just about every position on the pitch, with the exception of Cash-Konsa-Pau.

It makes us so much stronger.

Fingers crossed those three stay healthy.
