I didn't think that applied if they're British. Is he able to train, at least?

And he isn't 18 until next Jan so I expect we will have to loan him back to a team in Europe for him to get playing time until then.

He might be born in Britain but that doesn't make him British unfortunately. Seems we can take the Monchi out of Villa but not remove the transfer fuckups.

We'll probably sign Olsen to replace Martinez in the summer.

Is he any good? Does it imply somebody is off?

I imagine he's highly in demand because he is good and free, rather than because he's brilliant.

But "good and free" is very much the sort of pool in which we are swimming.

Left footed so if true you could assume Mings/ Torres moving on. The later bringing a bigger fee.

Throw £50 million at Palace for him before any of our rivals (Arbroath and Carmarthen Town) can snap him up.

West Ham supporting mate said Bowen has made it known that if they go down he is off, I know it may be more than we could manage but he is just what we need, he's a leader too.

He'll be on his last big contract, with little resale value (he'll be 30 in December).  I'd love him at the club, and think he'd be decent for at least a couple of seasons, but I don't see it happening, unfortunately.  He could become a 'maybe' if we get Champions League football, I suppose.  But he would cost a fair bit (unless he has a generous relegation release clause), and his wages would be high (he's already on £150k a week).

He feels like a Spurs-style signing - in the same vein as their James Maddison signing - if he were to move.  I think we're more in the market for a Jarrod Bowen of 2020 signings.  Mid-twenties, £20-30m. We tried it with Guessand, it didn't work, but I think these are the sort of gambles we have to take these days.

If he leaves he'll have to get past Danny Dyer first.

I saw something about him joking that the only other teams he'd let him play for are Burnley and Villa so he'd still be in claret and blue - so I think he'd get his blessing!
