I'd be happy with him but given it's football insider it's not even worth considering.

Me too. Good player.

Morgan Rodgers can leave but we will demand up to £100 million, that too much I think, more likely worth £1 million especially if Chelsea or Manchester City come along

I’d keep most of the squad together again if possible this summer. See what we can get with the money for Guessand and Bailey. Mingueza, Wilson on a free, maybe Andy Robertson on a free and sell Digne. I’d probably sell Watkins if we could sort a replacement.

Age profile is a concern and we can't do it all at once. Personally I'd hope we'll make a start this summer. I'd look to replace Watkins and Digne, despite much love for both. Garcia can go. Bailey and Guessand too. I'd sign Sancho if the wages are right, plus Wilson (I know he's 28, but he's free). If we need to make money in fees I'd be looking at Onana, Bogarde and maybe, sorry Emi, Buendia.

100m isn't enough for Rogers either. What did Liverpool pay for Wirtz? Stick 10m of English tax on that just for us to answer the phone.

20% sell on clause for Boro also, which will undoubtedly effect his final value.

Am I missing the irony here?

I think people are wondering why you think we will only sell him for £1mil to those clubs.

if Chelsea or Manchester City come calling we don't want to overcharge them or we could go one better and give him away on a free

Still missing the irony the same as Mister E. Especially when we have already sold a £100mil to Man City.

The one on the beeb today says we might let him go in the summer if we received 'up to £100m' which suggests we'd refuse more out of some Corinthian ideal.

And if course that's the limit for the best player in the league, as evidenced by other plodders not fit to lace his boots that have gone for more in the last few years

Rogers is easily worth over £100m so unless there’s a release clause it should be over that - hopefully it won’t happen.

Alternatively, we qualify for the CL and build a title winning side around him!!

There will, of course, be a release clause which would've been added when he signed his last deal.  I'd love him to stay, but if the club got over £100m for him then you see why they'd take it (those good ole 'fair play' rules being in place as they are).  It doesn't keep me awake at night, but I'm in the 'when' we sell him camp personally, as I think it's inevitable we will have to in order to reinforce the squad.  Bizarrely, I think our need to do that would be greater if we qualify for the CL.  I also think there'll be loads of clubs interested.  I hope I'm wrong, or if not, he goes abroad.

I don't think there's any shame in saying he's often too good for this team, especially as it stands.

That first half against Newcastle he was unreal, as good as I've ever seen him. He was making turns and plays that no one else in the shirt where anticipating.

The age profile is definitely a concern.  We won't be able to replace all of them at the same time, as you say, it'll be too expensive and potential disruptive, so we need to start looking at it now, and moving a few on while they're still desirable to other clubs.

It will be hard, because some of them are still performing perfectly well in the squad, but I would start to worry if we got to this time next year, with every centre back in their 30s (well, Ezri will be 30 in June next year), a midfield of SJM, Youri, Barkley, Buendia all at 30 or above (or very close to it in Youri's case), and the line being led by a 31 year old Ollie Watkins who will be a couple of months short of his 32nd birthday.  That sort of situation could lead to performances dropping off a cliff quite quickly.

I'm sure the club are well aware of it, and they might feel some of these players will be comfortable at the top level until they're 35 - they certainly know them better than we do, but I would really like to see us recruiting some first-team-ready players in their early 20s this summer, rather than just 'ones for the future' like Alysson and Madjo, or squad players like Lindelof and players on their last big contract like Tammy.

Is it really too much to ask for the club to unearth another two or three Morgan Rogers'?

Oh, it is? Okay, fair enough.
