My young fellas first game in Villa Park, and my first trip over in a good few years. Arrived here yesterday. We're having a great time.

From Carlow to Aston, the road less travelled!

You could say that Eamon. It's great to be here, we've had great time since we arrived. A good/great result would top it off nicely.

Also, the beeb with a massive in depth piece today about how Hansi Flick has revived Rashford's career, not a word about the time with us.

It is, in a very basic way, bad journalism though. Not for being anti-Villa, just for being Big Boy Ballwashing.

Firstly, negative points for not putting 'journalism' in quote marks like I just did, which makes my point not just relevant, but satirical.

'Journalism' (I did it again because I'm relentlessly satirical) is like every other 'profession' (I'm not scared of anyone), in that it adheres to a commercial imperative. Rashford is doing well at Barcelona. He did aright here, but that doesn't really fit the narrative. Who cares?

Plenty of people said how well Rashford was doing at Villa, tbf. The Guardian are still toadying lackies, though. Do they still list every tedious Duke and Earl that nobody has ever heard of in their "birthdays" section?
