Best that can be said is that at least we don’t have to have the Torres or Mings debate.

Actually no, we put some minutes in legs and the result will not affect us adversely in this competition, I don’t think.

Disappointing, though.

The service into the penalty area was there. The chances were there. To score one goal was pathetic.

We’re not scoring regulation tap in goals or headers we’re nowhere near clinical enough. Ollie looks past his best and on a steep decline.

I thought, after the Brentford loss, McGinn said Malen was the penalty taker if he was on the pitch?

We need to have a designated penalty taker, not just who fancies it.

But we were arrogant & paid the price.

Embarrassing defeat.  Terrible performance, shocking penalty, some truly awful personal performances.

Certainly an embarrassing result, PL team coming to town and turned over. But we should have had the game won in the first 30 mins so the performance wasn't as bad as Bruges or Monaco for example. It was too easy, sure there was some favourable refereeing for their equaliser but the big issue on the night was that complacency kicked in again after half time. We didn't get back to work at all, no tempo set by the two in midfield and that abomination of a back 4 setup was only itching to be exploited. Dreadful missed penalty summed it up but that was never a penalty anyway.

I know Emery needed to get minutes into likes of Lindelof and Mings but Mings simply cannot play RCB. He hasn't a clue what to do there. Guessand was horribly poor too, looked a competition winner.

The difference when likes of Kamara, McGinn, Cash and Rogers came on was quite worrying.

I seriously hope not but I have to agree.

In the grand scheme of things it’s not that important but the level of shiteness in the middle 30 mins of the match was shake your head appalling. Oh well long trip back to Schipol now in a storm, this’ll be fun.

Thankfully we don't need the £389,000 you get per win as our finances are so solid.

That probably pays the summer signings for one week.

This is the other impact, we need every ounce of revenue and coefficient point.

I think those saying a lack of respect, poor selection etc are a bit wide of the mark. We did more than enough in the first half to have the game wrapped up but poor execution let us down. We started with 10 players who have international caps, we should have had enough to beat, in all honesty, a quite poor team.

Shit happens, disappointing but it’s unlikely to hinder us progressing further in the competition.

Collectively poor but to play with so much complacency is unforgivable in my eyes. Ok you’re the “second” 11 but you’re playing for the chance to be considered or challenge for better so why not at least try.  Again, too slow in the build up but ffs if you can’t anticipate a ball in (doesn’t matter where you play) then you need a rocket.
Does Emery do this?

You can’t play the same backline all the time, and to be fair tonight should have been fine to rest a couple given Digne was injured as well. But it does demonstrate we’re short at the back - Mings is not good at right centre back and Lindelof doesn’t offer much at right back.

Lindelof offers nothing full stop.  Part of a very poor manchester united side, that he wasn't a regular in either.  Sancho is a show pony and this needs to be knocked out of him.  That said, our ability to attack the ball in the box was really really poor this evening.  Go Ahead wanted it so much more when defending.  Just as Buendia becomes a better player, he turns back into the Buendia we expect.  Special word for Maatsen and Guessand, shocking.

Buendia was outstanding in the first half. Unfortunately it was Guessand he kept playing through.
