I wonder what the criteria is for penalty taking, just who feels confident? Buendia is on form so I can understand him wanting it but was Rogers or Malen in the conversation?

They need to have a think about Pens now because if Buendia is on them, a player not guaranteed to play who's only ever taken 1 then somethings gone wrong somewhere.

Like so many of our shit cup defeats the team put out was much better than the team our opponents put out and yet we keep managing to lose.
Surely that's down to preparation and arrogance

There is no point picking out individual players, it's the manager's responsibility and he got it wrong.

Mings is finished at this level.  He’s like a even slower traction engine.

Well done to the opposition.  Worked out the long ball and exploited it.  Arrogant selection.  Respect the opponent win the game then make subs.

He was no worse than Torres, Maatsen or Lindelof tonight.  Collectively shocking.

It’s always like that. As soon as a manager doesn’t play the strongest team, it sends a signal to his own team and the opposition. Double whammy.

It’s futile to say the starting 11 was good enough to win. It wasn’t.

This is the most important competition of the season. Play the strongest team and take players off when secure.

Not a fatal result but will Unai learn. It’s not the first time we’ve lost to euro minnows

Arrogance and lack of respect. Spot on.

For a professional football team operating at the top end of the strongest league in World football, our penalty conversion rate is catastrophically poor.

Far too casual, lacked any respect for the opposition and paid the price. Well done to them and a complete joke of a performance from us. Bogarde looks better each match, SJM/Kamara looked theor usual committed selves and Morgan is getting his mojo back, the rest of them can just fuck off.
