As bad as it gets, hope this doesn't kick start a poor run, the worse thing about this, Go Ahead never actually believed they could draw let alone win, bad performance all over its totally pointless pulling out scapegoats, because then you you have to pull out a missed penalty by a player that just a few days ago was being hailed 'world class'.

Is it something to do with Eagles?.

Not much fart.  Absolutely no shit.
What does he actually do?

Lacked quality going forward and made too made changes to the backline. Throw in a fair amount of bad luck and an absurd penalty miss.

Couldn’t have gone much worse but hopefully won’t make too much difference in the end.

Well that was beyond dreadful. In particular I don’t want to see Mings and Torres together again, we’d have been better off with Bogarde at CB or RB and a youngster in centre mid.

I can tell you what he doesn't do and that's play for Villa.

Disappointing, the Eagles hoodoo continues. Our new blue/purple shorts were nice though.

All about attitude. Complacently going through the motions in tge first half and not appearing to care when they missed chances. When they developed the level of urgency we have a right to expect from them it had become one of those chase your tail situations.
Every time I start to think we’re developing a deeper squad it turns out we’re not - there are some real duds in our 21 or 22.

You can’t play the same backline all the time, and to be fair tonight should have been fine to rest a couple given Digne was injured as well. But it does demonstrate we’re short at the back - Mings is not good at right centre back and Lindelof doesn’t offer much at right back.

Starting XI should have been good enough to win tonight, no excuses we were sloppy and complacent.

At least Rogers looked extremely lively when he came on.

Very unprofessional by Villa. Unai and the players need to put these games to bed. So many chances and yet we didn't test the keeper nearly enough.  The lack of Elliott getting minutes is becoming an issue,  as is a penalty taker. I saw Rogers take one for England U21's and he looked a natural.Very disappointing night all round.

Lindelof offers nothing full stop.  Part of a very poor manchester united side, that he wasn't a regular in either.  Sancho is a show pony and this needs to be knocked out of him.  That said, our ability to attack the ball in the box was really really poor this evening.  Go Ahead wanted it so much more when defending.  Just as Buendia becomes a better player, he turns back into the Buendia we expect.  Special word for Maatsen and Guessand, shocking.

Like so many of our shit cup defeats the team put out was much better than the team our opponents put out and yet we keep managing to lose.
