Deventer bound from Amsterdam. Dutch public transport as on point as ever.

No Digne, per UE's presser yesterday. That ankle needs to heal.

Forgot that Barkley isn't in our European squad. Its a shame as this would be a perfect game for him to get match fitness.

What's the weather like? I have a worry it'll end up postponed until tomorrow and the twatty Premier League will still expect us to play Man City on Sunday.

Looking at the weather forecast for the area, it looks like it’s a good job we are the early game.
It gets very windy and heavy rain around 10pm

There is a big storm due later today, but it will impact the coastal areas more, and Deventer is inland and far from the coast.

GAE were battered 4-2 a couple of weeks ago by my local Dutch team, who chalked up their first Eredivisie win in 47 years. If Villa don't give them a good hiding, I'll be staggered.

Should be an interesting game. I hope we don't take it easy against these Eagles.

Given the next two league games, wonder whether Unai will shuffle the pack a bit tonight.  There are a few that could do with some minutes in their legs.

Gat the game won early rather than take it the limit.

No, we'll take it easy for the first hour then push for the win.

From BBC:

Although they have won both UEFA Europa League matches so far this season, only two sides have faced more shots than Aston Villa (36) and only five sides have attempted fewer shots than Villa (18).

Shouldn’t this be in the Broadcasters bias thread. It’s an anti-Brummie plot I tells ya.
